Description

Rechargeable battery (battery) Segway i2 and x2 – NEW higher range (guaranteed 80% more)

NEW – new battery

The new battery suitable for the Segway PT i2 or also x2 no matter whether on the older Gen2 or the newer SE devices, has a capacity of approx. 12Ah and of it guaranteed, usable capacity of approx. 9.5Ah and thus 80% more range.

Ideal also for the wheelchair version, which is limited by the range due to the weight.

Tips for the care of the battery:

  • Charge new battery for 24 hours before first ride.
  • Always store dry!
  • Always store or charge batteries or Segway PT with the battery installed at temperatures above 12 degrees Celsius, or at best above 15 degrees Celsius!
  • Calibrate the rechargeable batteries once a year as part of service
  • Always leave the Segway PT with the battery installed connected to the power source. The internal charger (UIC) takes over the optimal battery charging (trickle charge) for them. If the device is not used for a longer period of time, please always use a timer and interrupt the charge once a day.

Range:

The special batteries for the Segway PT are very robust and have a high power density. However, it is also important for rechargeable batteries that the power is provided permanently and even after many charges. With one charge, which requires only about 2 kWh, you can go about 70 km with an i2 and about 36 km with an x2, so the cost of electricity for 100 km is less than 1 € even with the most expensive electricity tariff.

The specified range refers to the tire pressure of 1 bar for the i2 and 0.27 bar for the x2. If you drive with higher tire pressure, this has a positive effect on the range and you will go further in the best conditions!

The range is negatively influenced by:

  • Low outside temperatures cause the battery to “fall asleep
  • increased friction of the tires due to low tire pressure
  • high weight of the driver
  • uneconomical driving i.e. always at the limit or unnecessary acceleration or braking
  • steep inclines (climbing)

Safety:

  • Protect batteries and their connectors from moisture
  • Only charge batteries at adequately fused sockets and with charging cables designed for this purpose.
